Teaching Assistant: Mathematics III (2025)
Undergraduate course, Centro de Ciências Moleculares, USP, 2025
For the second semester of 2025 (July-December) I was the Teaching Assistant for professor Daniel Levcovitz in the course “Mathematics III” (CCM0213) for undergraduates of the Bachelor in Molecular Sciences.
Teaching Assistant responsabilities
In Brazil we use the term “monitor” for this position, and as the expectations for what a “teaching assistant” would do may vary from country to country I list bellow exactly what I did:
- I held weekly 1-hour sessions to help the students solve exercises and answer questions they had on the subject.
- I did not grade tests.
- I did not give any lectures.
Topics explored in the course
- Vector spaces, linear transformations and matrices.
- Determinants and systems of linear equations.
- Eigenvalues and eigenvectors.
- Elementary topology in R^n.
- Analytic geometry (coordinate systems, planes and distances).
- Differential calculus in scalar and vector fields.
